The Office

Our main office boasts a broadcast standard quad screen edit suite, nicknamed ‘The Hybrid’, capable of editing in video resolutions  of up to 5k and beyond. It houses 16GB’s DDR3 RAM and 6 Terabytes of internal storage space with the ability to expand should the needs arise. Our secondary edit suite, nicknamed ‘Junior’, is also a fully functional edit suite and is designed to be set up and used on location for live capture and broadcast.

Both machines were designed and built by ourselves and run 64 bit Windows 7 Professional. Junior also has a secondary 32 bit operating system installed to accommodate certain requirements that are not supported by 64 bit. We also use a 13 inch MacBook Pro for any additional on location work that may be required.

We edit video and graphics primarily with the Adobe Master Collection Creative Suite 5.5, however we also use other edit software such as Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro and Logic. We also use 3DS Max and Blender for 3D Modelling.

We are also in the process of getting an additional iMac Dual Screen Editing Suite of similar specifications to our flagship system to enable several edits to be made at one time, doubling our output time and giving us more flexibility with varying software. The iMac will also run CS5.5 but also house Apple Final Cut Pro.

Production
We currently own three cameras, all of which are broadcast quality and shoot in 1080p at 25-30fps (and more should specifications require it). We use a Canon Vixia HV40 running on HDV tape as a ‘master camera’ while using two Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i) D-SLR’s for any additional filming required. All of which shoot at broadcast level and come with an array of filters and lenses. For more information about our cameras, visit our Video gallery!

As any professional would tell you, running synchronous audio is a must – so we use a Zoom H4N handy recorder, running separately from our cameras, to record sound. This sound can then be used in edits or capture sound feeds to use on albums or podcasts. The quality of this recorder is outstanding, and even the on board microphones are able to capture a crisp, clean sound if used correctly.

We do have our own lighting, however at current our range is limited to two 5500k static lanterns. We are currently able to hire in additional lighting should it be required at an extra cost, although we are due to expand our range of lighting very shortly.
